CONTENTS INCLUDE: Adhesive, Accelerator, and Stir Stick

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Prior to the application of Equilox, the coronet band should be protected by wrapping it with electrical tape at the base of the hairline. Remove the shoe and all loose or damaged hoof wall for a sound bond. All areas should be carefully sanded and thoroughly cleaned with acetone or Equilox Prep. CAREFUL AND THOROUGH HOOF WALL PREPARATION CANNOT BE EMPHASIZED ENOUGH.

IMPORTANT:
Areas of bleeding drainage or infection should not be covered with reconstruction material. There are some exceptions when using medicated. Contact your Veterinarian or Equilox International for treatment. Only dry or cornified tissue should be covered or an abscess or infection could result.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
    1. Open container. Remove accelerator ampule bag and red cup.
    2. Knead accelerator ampule bag thoroughly before dispensing.
    3. Tear/cut dispensing nozzle of accelerator ampule bag and completely dispense all contents into container on top of the adhesive.
    4. Mix thoroughly for at least 1 to 1 ½ minutes. Scrape sides and bottom.
    5. Apply adhesive. Sets up in 6 to 8 minutes at room temperature.
    6. Combine used components in container, cap and dispose.

IF YOU ARE IN A HOT AND HUMID CLIMATE, REFRIGERATE TO SLOW DOWN THE CURE TIME.

For cracks and larger defects, reinforce the repair with Equilox Composite Cloth or with Spectra.

    1. Prepare hoof and mix Equilox as described above.
    2. With Composite Cloth or Spectra on a separate piece of Equilox Wrap (Mylar), saturate cloth with Equilox and work product into the fibers of the cloth.
    3. Apply a thin layer of Equilox to the hoof wall filling the crack or defect and extending at least 1 ½” beyond the crack.
    4. Press the saturated fabric into the uncured Equilox on the hoof and wrap immediately with Equilox Wrap (Mylar). Use of Equilox Wrap prevents the repaired surface from becoming tacky.
    5. Attach the Equilox Wrap to the hoof with a layer of compression or Vet Wrap to seal out oxygen during the curing process.
    6. Trim excessive material from the bottom of the hoof. The surface may be sanded lightly when the repair has hardened. DO NOT SAND INTO THE REPAIR AND DAMAGE THE FABRIC. The horse may stand on the repair as soon as the Equilox hardens.

ALLOW 24 HOURS TO TOTALLY CURE BEFORE COMPETITION.

STORAGE: The shelf life of the adhesive is 6 months. Equilox should be stored away from direct sunlight or excessive heat (80 degrees F) to maintain its bonding and curing characteristics. During cold weather, make sure to store above 35 degrees F. Warm the adhesive to room temperature before using.
