Where does the name NANRIC come from?
NANRIC is short for Nancy and Ric Redden.
How do I contact Dr. Redden?
How do I determine what size horseshoe I need?
Our horseshoes are sized based on the width and length of your horse's foot. The most important measurement is the width at the widest point of the foot.
What size drill bit should I use for the nail holes in NANRIC aluminum shoes?
Dr. Redden recommends using a 9/64" drill bit for nail holes in our shoes. He drills straight and at an angle so the nail can be pitched as needed.
What type of nail does Dr. Redden prefer to use with NANRIC therapeutic horseshoes?
Often we are asked what nails Dr. Redden prefers to use with our therapeutic horseshoes. He uses MX 50 on 95% of all our shoes then JC on thinner walls and JC 2x0 on racehorses.
Can I reset your aluminum shoes?
Yes but it is not recommended due to wear. Dr. Redden recommends resetting every four weeks.
How many degrees does the NANRIC Ultimate raise the heel off the ground?
The NANRIC Ultimate raises the heel 8 degrees and the breakover at the toe allows an additional 10 degrees for a maximum 18 degree increase in palmar angle.
Is there a diference between gray and pink Advance Cushion Support (ACS)?
No. They are the same material and both have a durometer (hardness) rating of 60. The color is simply a personal choice.
How do I determine which side of the foot to place the Medial/Lateral Dalric Extension on?
If the foal toes in (varus), the extension should be on the outside (lateral). If the foal toes out (valgus), the extension should be on the inside (medial).
